Obituary for Mark Thomas "Tom" Richardson

Mark Thomas "Tom" Richardson
Surrounded by the love of his family, Mark Thomas Richardson peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in his 70th year. Beloved fiancée of his partner Bonnie Tkac, caring father of his daughters Amy (Patrick), Rebecca, and Kathleen (Josh). Proud and supportive Poppa to Taylor (Cody), Connor and Chloe Halls. Brother and business partner to Morley (Barb). Tom is also remembered fondly by his niece Kim Mason (Roger), and nephews Scott and Brent (Sandy). Tom was predeceased by his father John, his mother Gladys, and his two sisters Marlene and Mary. Tom also leaves behind his dog Max and his kitten Rosie.
As a child Tom loved participating in many sports. He often wore his hockey equipment to his piano lessons. Friends have said he swam like a motor boat. He enjoyed watching the Blue Jays, the Raptors and the Maple Leafs, often calling out helpful plays to the television as he encouraged his teams to win.
Tom and Morley owned Richardson Chevrolet in Milton for 40 years. He often spoke of the outstanding professional relationship that he shared with his brother, carrying on in spirit the Richardson car dealership owned by his father, John Richardson in Fergus. Prior to working at the car dealership, Tom was a member of the OPP.
Tom was best friends with Jack Walkey for 65years. It would be an understatement to say that Tom and Jack shared a number of memorable, hell raising events. They both still giggled over their antics and there are pictures to prove their behaviour. Tom loved to laugh, he enjoyed bad jokes and eye-rolling puns. He had a quick wit and enjoyed making others laugh.
Tom’s remains have been cremated. His ashes will remain in his home with a Spring Inurnment. A Celebration of Life will take place according to Tom’s wishes on his birthday January 10, 2018.
The Richardson family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Groves Memorial Hospital, Dr. Eric Oh and Dr. Britney Brown for their care, compassion and kind treatment of Tom as his illness progressed. The family also thanks Giddy Funeral Home for their support after Tom had passed. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Jumpstart Program at Canadian Tire.

May the winds of love blow softly
And whisper so you’ll hear
How much we love and miss you
And wish that you were here. Sadly missed but not forgotten.

“I have not left, I am not gone, look into the eyes my grandchildren and you will find me there. “
