Fondly remembered
I first met Trevor when I was a budding gardener at an Elora Salem Horticultural meeting. He was demonstrating how to plant seeds and we all left with a container of planted seeds. I was sooooooo very impressed that the seeds I planted that evening prospered in my garden. I told him so the following spring. He laughed and laughed. (At the time I didn’t know why)
There was just something about Trevor.
I wanted to get to know him better so when I retired I volunteered at the Wellington County greenhouses.
Oh what fun we had! We planted seeds, listened to Oldies on the radio and solved the world’s problems time and time again.
People would pop into the greenhouse all the time. The way people flocked to Trev he could have been a bartender or a hairstylist. People shared their victories and their woes with Trevor. He always listened, made people laugh, and they ALWAYS left feeling better than they did when they came in.
As for the seeds I planted the first time I met him….they were poppies. I couldn’t get rid of the darn things. And now….I never want to.
Rest in peace Trevor. My condolences go out to you Janet. Take good care.
