Dear Alice and children, grandchildren The Lord was merciful in calling your husband and father/grandfather home at this time. Death always comes suddenly, not expected at that time, as also happened when my wife passed away. May the Lord comfort you all through his Word and Spirit, and strengthen you also when you commit Ralph's body to the earth. May He also be near you, Alice, when the family has returned to their homes, and you are by yourself and the reality settles in.
