Condolences

Condolence From: Liz Huff
Condolence: I just learned of Robert's death and I am sad to know I missed the chance to reconnect with him before it was too late. I met Robert when he ran an active teaching program at the Schoolhouse in Belwood and while he still ran the Village Weaver in the emerging gay village in Toronto. He was a brilliant artist, a clever business person and an outrageous fun and creative friend. We shared many wonderful times together, spending time in his various accommodations, helping him feed many at parties, attempting to learn to dye fibres, etc. etc. I even got to spend time with him on the mountain top heritage villa he owned for awhile in Jamaica - just a magical place. I lost track of him after he moved to Mexico, but I know he transformed himself into an excellent ESL teacher, where I am sure he offered inspirational and caring tutelage to many. I am grateful he touched my life.

Condolence: I have just heard of Robert`s passing and it gives me great sorrow. I worked with Robert at the University of Guadalajara for many years and I know he left a great legacy behind him with his caring spirit and the paternal role he played in the lives of many of our students. Robert is still fondly talked about in Puerto Vallarta by those who knew him and his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who he cared for. Rest in peace.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of my friends death. I lost track of Robert after he moved from his home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I also moved from Toronto where he may have looked for me, so I guess we were both lost to each other. I'm surprised by no obituary as he was a wonderful and artistic person with a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
