I had the pleasure of working with Rafer until a couple of years ago and I will always remember him with a cheery smile, ever helpful and optimistic. Condolence: No words can express how truly sorry I am for this loss. I was shocked, and instantly crushed when I heard the news. I was so fortunate to meet Rafer at such a formidable time of my life, and he truly helped make me the person I am today. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone, and was the most loyal person I may have ever known. He was a true friend, and even though we drifted apart over the years, when our paths did cross on occasion at work, it was always a pleasant surprise. I will cherish the times that I had with him, and am so grateful to have reconnected with him since April – an unexpected blessing at such a tragic time. He will be deeply missed. My heart now goes out to those that remain in the wake of yet another tragedy.

Please accept my fondest wishes and condolences to the Quin Family for your loss. Rafer and I go back a long way within BlackBerry and have been friends for almost 10 years. We have worked together in many areas and have always kept in touch going for breakfast many Fridays for most of that time.

Rafer was a good hearted individual always willing to help wherever he could. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and was a very genuine person. He was the kind of person you could not help but like as he truly was rare bread.

He will be deeply missed.

I regret not staying in touch as much over the years, as I have so many great memories of the times we spent together. Rafe truly had a big heart and made time for everyone.
