Influence on My Career
When I, Edward Zaluski, was in highschool in the late 1950s, I lived for two years with Paul's mother Helen and father Joseph in their house in Wynyard. (Helen was my mother's first cousin, making Paul my second cousin.) One day, Paul, who at that time was a Canadian Air Force instructor pilot on Harvard aircraft in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, "buzzed" the town with his aircraft. I thought "Gee, maybe I'd like to do that!" So I did, becoming a Canadian Forces pilot and completing 35 years of service. After retirement, my wife Elaine and I took up the "recreation vehicle" lifestyle during the winters, travelling to many places in the USA in our truck and fifth-wheel trailer. In the early 2000s, Paul and Mae joined us with their own truck and fifth-wheel trailer, and we spent a number of winters together at RV parks in Arizona and Florida. There, we met many people who shared the RVing lifestyle, became our friends, and shared with us many memorable moments.
