Condolences

Condolence From: Carolyn, Kelly & family
Condolence: Our thoughts and prayers go to Jack and all the family. Leona had such a wonderful spirit, a zest for life, always so positive.
May we continue to "Celebrate Leona's Life" the way she would want us to. Just wish we could be there for that "Kitchen Party", Leona will be there in "Spirit", may it continue. With love and condolences, Carolyn, Kelly and family

Condolence From: John and Ursula
Condolence: Our sincere sympathy and condolences to Jack and to Monica and her family.
Leona and I grew up together as we lived two houses from one another, Leona could only speak French and I could only speak English yet we managed to play and understand each other. In the summer of.1963 we both arrived in Toronto a month apart and shared an apartment together until 1969. Three weeks ago I spoke to Leona by phone and could hear in her voice how very tired she was. Leona was a kind and very unselfish person who put others before herself. We will miss her descriptive Christmas letters telling of her family, projects and trips,
Rest in peace Leona and may. God bless you.

Condolence From: Gord and Jan Fansher
Condolence: Jack and family: We were sorry to hear about Leona. We were always inspired by Leona's spirit, determination, courage and will to live life to the fullest. Leona will be remembered with fond memories by Chloe and Matthew as she was so interested in them as they grew. We always looked forward to seeing you both at the Hurlbut and extended family Christmas and those are memories we will cherish. From Gord....Leona had a common interest in geneology with his parents and shared interest in Scottish history in Canada and his parents enjoyed corresponding with Leona over the years. Gord fondly remembers his chats with Leona about his parents as they developed challenges in their lives as they aged and will always appreciate her listening and caring. We regret that we are not able to join you in remembering and celebrating Leona's life but know you are all in our thoughts.
Love, Jan, Gord, Matthew and Chloe Fansher

Condolence From: Kathy Brown Mackenzie
Condolence: This is all so very very sad. Leona's dad Alex was my father Bob Brown's best friend. They were together the night my father was killed in New Victoria by a hit and run drunk driver. Alex, Beatrice, Leona, Willie Joe, and Josephine spent many happy times visiting with our family. Leona and I grew to be friends. We were the same age. She was a lovely girl. Always happy and kind. Being the oldest she was often taking care of the younger ones and helping her Mom. I visited her Mom Beatrice on my visits to New Waterford and she kept me posted on Leon's successful and happy life in Ontario. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I pray you will all be comforted by the warm loving memories of Leona and times you shared. May God Grant you Peace at this difficult time.

Sincere, loving heartfelt memories from an old New Victoria/Cape Breton friend.
