Surrounded with the love of his family and friends on Sunday September 5th, 2004. Lawrence Richard Hiles in his 71st year went to be with his Lord. Lawrence died on the 92nd birthday of his Mom, Louisa Webster of Scarborough, Ontario. He was predeceased by his father Ernest Clifford Hiles, England. Beloved husband of Anne Helen Hiles of Fergus, Ontario. Dear father of Barbara Morrison (Ian) of Markham, Ontario and Clifford W. Ferriman (Elvira) of Vienna, Austria. Loving step-father to Leigh-Anne Rothon and Krista William, both of Guelph. Grand Dad to Kyle and Shawn Morrison of Markham, Steven, Jeffrey and Sophie Ferriman of Vienna, Austria and Grampa to Ethan Williams of Guelph. Brother of Anita Bull (Harry) of Scarborough. Uncle of Vanessa Sikora of Calgary, Alberta. Lawrence was born in Manchester, England on May 13, 1934 and emigrated to Canada on August 8, 1957. Most of his working life was in law enforcement but his life passion was helping youth. He was the initial force behind opening "The Door" Youth Drop-in Centre in Fergus and was his passion until the day he died. He was a very dedicated and active member of Grace Christian Fellowship, Fergus. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Maranatha Christian School, 8037 Garafraxa St. Fergus, at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Christian Fellowship to be distributed between; The Door, Youth Drop-in Centre, The Ark Home for Street Children in Equador and Tehilla Wellington Youth Group.
