It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Charles McManus of Salem at the age of 56 years. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Nancy McManus (nee Clay), of Salem, his daughter Cheri and fiancé, Jason of Belle River and by his son, Patrick at home. Dear son of Charles and Eileen McManus of Elora and son-in law of Dorothy and the late Ian Clay Sr. of Fergus. Beloved brother of Thomas McManus and wife, Karen of Elora, Mary Alice Roden and husband, Dave of Salem, Elizabeth Gilmour and husband, John of Salem, Michael McManus and wife, Vickie of Cumnock, Teresa Dolinsek and husband, Frank of Salem and Noreen Taylor and husband, Dale of Salem. Loved brother-in-law of Frances Elliston and husband, Bill, Ian Clay Jr. and wife, Valerie and Peggy Agnew and husband, Mike all of Fergus. Predeceased by his mother, Alice Preston McManus, brother-in-law, George Clay and nephew, Gabe Roden. John is survived by many nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He was loved by all who knew him. John was a talented tradesman with McManus Plastering & Drywall and was well known for his expertise in the trade he loved most which was plastering. John's family will receive visitors at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 37 Church Street, Elora on Sunday , June 13, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 14th at St. Mary's Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, 267 Geddes Street , Elora at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Elora.
