Condolence From: Tony and Elaine Porter
Condolence: We have such wonderful, fond memories of John. I worked with him in the seventies and we have kept in touch for all these years. We extend our sympathy to John's family and to "his girls" who did so much for him over the years. I will think of him every time I work in our garden out here in Alberta.
With our sympathy.

Condolence From: Linda Pearson
Condolence: For many years after his retirement John was a fixture at the Fergus Public Library on St. Andrew Street. Every morning John would quietly arrive, settle at the board table in the front window and proceed to read every daily newspaper front to back. He had once been on the library board as council representative. And Ms. Corbett is so very right; John was a consummate gentleman in every respect and the twinkle in those blue eyes always made my day.

Condolence From: Janice Corbett
Condolence: John's passing is sad for my entire family. He lived on the farm across the road from the farm when mom, Margaret Rutherford was growing up. The relationship between the Rutherfords and the Carters lasted many, many decades. They were special friends.
In 1967, my Mom and Dad ,Ivan Corbett, received an offer from John Carter , to buy their house at 366 St. Patrick St. East Fergus. This was done. John was a true gentleman all his life.I believe John sat on County Council for many years. He also was a Mason. The world has lost John, a strong Christian, but he is reunited with his parents, and sister Audrey. Blessings to his friends, family and close neighbours.
