Uncle Jim

Uncle Jim was my "double uncle" because two sisters married two brothers. It seems hard to believe that less than a month ago we were all together at the Cushing Family Reunion on July 15, 2012. It makes you realize how precious each day is and to make the most of each and every day. Uncle Jim was quite the character. His daughter Kathy recently reminded me of the time when my Mom and Dad had just bought their home in Guelph, and Uncle Jim came to help with the move. He decided to try out my brother's (Frank) motorized dirt bike. Uncle Jim got on the dirtbike and crashed it at our neighbour's house. We were worried that he would actually go through one of the neighbour's windows. He got up without a scratch and started to laugh. I was able to say good-bye to Uncle Jim a couple of days ago while he was in the hospital. It is a blessing he is at peace now. I truly believe that Grandma Edth and Grandpa Gordon and of course Uncle Jack were all there waiting for him (perhaps with a beer in hand). I love you Uncle Jim and I will miss you very much. Jaci
