Childhood Farm Memories

So many fond memories of my summer "holidays" on the farm. Pretty much just following Bruce around like a shadow. Aunt Gwen putting up with her "city" niece, the picky, slow eater who eventually grew big enough to actually be a help on the farm with chores. Teasing me and laughing when I came in from helping with haying and I had a dirty face so I actually looked like a farmer.

Then there were the many phone calls to check how my Mom was doing during her health issues after Dad died. The call would start with "Well, Hello There." I'd smile and get a warm feeling. I'd update her, we'd chat, she'd reminisce, and usually say how much she missed Ross.  It was so reassuring talking to her because she was a link to Dad and Uncle Ross. Then she would end the phone call with "Well, God Bless You and you tell your Mother I called about her and I'm thinking about her."  I can still hear her voice.  She wanted to be a support to us because she said my Dad and Mom had always accepted and treated her well and been there for her and Ross. I totally appreciated her support and care. I will miss her.
