Condolence: David Beattie will be sorely missed as he was a true local historian. He has been a Life Member of the Wellington County Historical Society. We very much appreciated his support, guidance and patronism, that he gladly has given us over the years. His history book Pillars and Patches along the Pathways is his legacy to us as we will be able to refer to it when wanting to know about the settlers of Nichol township. He will still guide us along from Heaven above. He has gone but He definately Not Forgotten

Condolence: My first contact with David was in my role as a Funeral Director, during a burial at Mt. Pleasant and I was left with the feeling that this is a quiet and gentle man. We soon after met in lodge and I always enjoyed chatting with him during the years that followed. My memory is that he quietly went through the steps of his life, touching many on his travels.
