The Barney I knew

Barney, was one of the first folks I met when first volunteering for the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games. I never participated in an opening ceramonies, tattoo or community Parade- that Barney was not present. He was passionate about his country, county and community. Barney had a "crusty exterior but a marshmallow centre", sweet guy through and through. He was Always willing to step up to help, I will forever be grateful to the many times he lent a helping hand for Fergus and Centre Wellington. He was an ispiration and his giving personality was a force to be reckoned with. I will miss his "bark" at fall in at Rememberance Day ceramonies and his pleasant quips always at the ready each and every time I saw him. My day was always a bit sunnier with an encounter with Barney, my thoughts and prayers to Carol and family, may you find comfort in the amazing stories and memories of years with a wonderful man.
