I have many fond memories with Grandpa. I always enjoyed looking at his baby picture that he carried in his wallet, drives to St Jacobs and the time he had us walk from his old farm to Carmel school so I could see how far my dad had to go every day... In the snow... Up hill both ways. I was also very happy that he was able to build a relationship with my own children even though we live out West. It was always exciting to know that a visitor would soon be arriving from the East. Hannah and Gracie entertained him with many dances and musical instrument performances and he graciously gave them all of his attention and encouragement... And sometimes some silver coins for their efforts. Most off all, I will always remember a very important piece of advice that he has given to me since I was a child. "Don't take any wooden nickels". We will miss you Grandpa!
