Our Mummi

This is such a difficult time for us all. Mummi was such a huge part of each of our lives. The memories we each have of her will live on within us and help us get through these hard days. One memory I hold so dear to my heart are the summers that I spent at the cottage with Mummi, just the two of us. These are some of the best years of my life and I believe the best years of Mummis life too. Each morning Mummi would wake up early and make us porridge. We shared so many laughs together watching Threes Company, every day we would fight with the black flies while walking to the mailbox, and every evening wed go for a swim in the lake together. And thats it, thats what we would do every day for the whole summer...and it was magical! Mummi saw the beauty in everything, she was always amazed by natures beauty...flowers especially! It was in her art that you could really feel her love of flowers. I feel so incredibly blessed to have had Mummi as my grandmother. Thank you Mummi for all you have shown me, for all of the wonderful cottage memories, for all of the delicious Christmas dinners and for the Finnish pancakes, everything you made you made with love. I will miss you beyond measure.
