In dedication to our friend, our neighbour. We are deeply saddened by George's passing. He was a great man, helpful, considerate and fun. For 16 years we had a Christmas Eve tradition to join George and Virginia for a late night drink and a game of euchre. George loved to tell stories and Virginia would fill in the missing names. He was proud of his family and would always update us on their progress. George's true passion in my opinion, was his yard and flowers. He set a standard hard to match try as we might. One hot summer day I was attempting to shingle my shed. I noticed George and his cousin Garnet sitting in the shade under the carport. As I had never singled a rood before, I thought I would ask these 2 wise old men for instruction. It turns out they had no more knowledge than me, but were happy to watch me sweat the day away on that roof! When I was done, I joined them for a cool beverage and listened to some childhood memories. Good Times! George is already missed on Perry Street. We hope that he and Garnet are sitting in those lawn chairs looking down on us with a smile and and a chuckle, enjoying a tall Wiser's and Vernon's gingerale! Cheers to George, our friend.
