Gary, Peter, Cathy, Lynda, Susan, Sharon and Karen: Only just became aware of your Mother's passing, very sorry to hear the news. Your Mom was like a mom to us also. Since we lived next to each other on the farm, the two families always supported each other. I will never forget how your mom always helped our mom and dad become good Canadians in those early years, taught them both english. Your mom was always direct in a loving way. We had a party line, my mom was on the phone, your mom wanted to talk to my mom, but did not want wait, so she just picked up the phone and said " Hilda, I'm making pie, I'm coming over for butter! She would always drop everything and help in a time of need. Whenever us kids did something "not so smart" ( sometimes with you), your mom would just smile at us a certain way and say nothing...we knew. ....like the time Hans and I wiped out on Peter's mimi-bike.
