Many of Grandma's grandchildren spent days, weeks and even summers working in the fields on the Belwood Valley Christmas Tree Farm (affectionately known as BVTF in the family).

I learned many lessons of work, life and nature from our beloved Grandma Helen. I was blessed to learn many tricks from her including some in the kitchen. Grandma would tell me in a bit of a whisper... "If the men are coming in hungry from the fields for lunch and you have barely started, quickly throw some onions and butter in a pot to fry so it smells like you've been doing something!"
