Obituary for William Joseph "Bill" Strub
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 26, 2021 at the age of 83.
Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Georgina V. Strub and sister Anna Marie Lafontaine.
Pre-deceased by his brother Jack and brother in-law Ron Lafontaine.
Lovingly remembered by his sons (wives) Derek, Jennifer and Greg, Dee. Grandchildren Alexandra, Lauren and Hayden. Nephews and nieces, Edward, Michelle, Mathew, Rosalyn, Renee, Paulette, Kim and Craig. Sister and brother in-law Sue Belair and Paul Careswell.
Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was kind hearted and quick with a smile. A common sentiment about Bill was that he never spoke an ill word about anyone and always looked for the best in people.
Bill’s passion early in life was fishing. Something he spent decades sharing with his sons and friends in Thornbury, Meaford and Wiarton. Later in life it was all about golf. Whether at home in the summers or wintering in Florida, he spent a wonderful 22 years of retirement golfing a couple times a week all year long.
Due to current gathering restrictions there will be no immediate service to honour Bill. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
