Passed away peacefully on March 27, 2016 at Caressant Care, Fergus in his 98th year. Predeceased by his first wife Viola (1951), second wife Marjorie (1995) and his third wife Tressa (2008). Lovingly remembered by his son Stan (Mary) Smith and daughter-in law Louise Smith. Predeceased by his daughter Eileen and son Everett. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Sandra (Dave) Hoing and their children Matthew and Joshua, Julie (Tony) Barrett and their children Bridget and Mark, Mark Smith and his friend Katherine Wilson, Martin (Victoria) Smith and their children Ethan, Aaron and Connor. Also remembered by his step children Marlene (Vernon) Dowdall. John (Debbie) Fletcher and daughters-in-law Jeanette and Lynn Fletcher. Predeceased by Wayne and Keith Fletcher and Don (Louise) Fletcher. His step children Donna (John) Maurer, Dan (Sandy ) Groff, Lou (Odette) Groff and Miriam (Harry) Bauman as well as 27 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Roy will be remembered by many for his love of flowers and gardening, for which he won many awards. The family would like to thank Highland Manor and Caressant Care, Fergus for their compassionate care over the years. Visitation will take place at The Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place for Roy on April 1st, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 675 Victoria Terrace, Fergus.
