It is with great sadness we have to announce the passing of Vera Ovens (Gummerson) in her 78th year passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital on Monday, July 2nd, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Phyllis and brothers Ken and Tom. She leaves behind her children Steven (Janet), Deanne (Ron), sisters Bonnie, Isabelle, Rose, Laura, brothers John, Larry, Don, Bill, Robert and Andy. Also mourning their loss are her grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Ben and Jacob. Vera will be lovingly remembered by all. A graveside service will be held at the Elora Cemetery on Friday July 6th at 11:00am immediately followed by a reception being held at the Elora Legion. Cremation has taken place, funeral arrangements entrusted to the Graham Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that any donations be directed towards the Canadian Cancer Society or Groves memorial Hospital (519) 843-3100.
