Obituary for Vera Godwin (Moss)

Vera Godwin (Moss)
Vera Moss Godwin passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family, in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Stuart Playfair Godwin (1998) and her brother William (Bill) Moss, she is survived by her dear siblings Jack Moss (Shirley), Victor Moss (Barbara) and Mary Carter (Gilbert). She will always be remembered by her children Helen Stanley (Alfred), John (Carolyn), Ian (Anna) and Kevin (Caroline), and her ten grandchildren: John, Helen and Stuart; Sarah and Thomas; Anicka, Ross and Isabelle; and Jeanne and Cara. Her family will dearly miss her constant support, encouragement and love of life. She had a strong network of loving friends including “the Guelph Girls”, many from the Southampton Tennis Club and the Village of Elora. She loved being active on the tennis court, bicycle and was seen by many on her daily walks. She loved music and rarely missed any of the local concerts. An avid traveler, she enjoyed many adventures with her husband, daughter, in-laws and friends. Many thanks to the friends and neighbours who kept an eye on Mom when her family was away. Thanks to the nurses at Bayshore Home Health and the staff at Right at Home who made Mom’s final days comfortable and peaceful. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 37 Church St. E. in Elora, on Sunday, December 7th, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Vera’s Memorial Service will be conducted at the Elora United Church, 75 Geddes St. in Elora, on Monday, December 8th, 2014 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elora United Church.
