Obituary for Vance Earl Barber

Vance Earl Barber, 86, of Elora, passed away quietly on Jan 2, 2024, at Guelph General Hospital, with his son by his side.

Vance grew up in Fergus, a town that still holds extended family and friends.

He held many jobs over the years, but spoke most highly of his time at Eckels.

In his latest years, he enjoyed exploring his ancestry, wood carving, and meeting up with the Elora “Hole in the Fence Gang” for coffee and conversation.

Vance was predeceased by his parents Annie and George. He is survived by his sister Agnes Woods, and his children Eric (Lynda), Donna (Robert), and Janet (Sophia)

He will be dearly missed by his 2 grandchildren Brad and Jaymie Barber, as well as his many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Contributions in memory of Vance can be made to the Parkinson’s Society.

A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned for the springtime. Details will be shared in the future.
