Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus on Oct 5th, 2013. She lived in Fergus for nearly 60 years and was well loved and respected in the community. Trudy was born in Halifax in 1925 and moved to Ontario in 1952, where she met her husband James (Jim); they married in 1953. She worked at schools in Fergus and Elora, and was committed to several local charities, as well as active involvement in the Catholic church and Fergus Library Board. Trudy’s many friends loved her sense of humour, positive attitude to life, and notable Bridge and Scrabble skills. Trudy is survived by her children Colleen (Halifax), Maureen (London England), and Terry, (Donna; Oakville); grandchildren, Ali, (Dave), Adam, Mike, Nick, and Brianna; and great-grandson, Jonathan (Halifax). She was predeceased by her husband Jim (1996), daughter Diane (1959), and siblings Bernard and Joan. Visitation is to be held at The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, St David Street, Fergus, on Tuesday, Oct 8th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. The Funeral mass will be held on Wed Oct 9th at 11am at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fergus.
