Obituary for Thomas Wilfred "Bill" NESBITT

Bill passed away on February 11 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in his 82nd year. Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Doreen Edna (Gunn), in 1985. Bill is mourned by his wife, Marguerite, his son Ken and partner Eileen McCurdy, his daughter Linda and husband John Young, his grandson Kevin and wife Angie, his grandson Jamie and wife Michelle, grandsons Billy and Robbie, and many great-grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered by his surviving sister, Margaret Gunn. As well, this is a great loss to Bill's many friends. Born on the family farm outside Fergus, Bill resided in Fergus his whole life apart from serving in Europe during the Second World War. He was an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and the Fergus chapter of the Freemasons; he also actively served the community through his participation in the Horticultural Society and as a driver for many years for the Cancer Society. Visitation with the family will take place Friday, February 13 at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home. A reception will follow immediately at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Groves Memorial Community Hospital Building Fund would be appreciated.
