With heartfelt sorrow, the family announces the sudden passing of Steve Armstrong a wonderful husband, dad, son and uncle. Steve was a long time resident of the community, a proud member of the Centre Wellington Contractors Association, a long time member of the Fergus Curling Club and a member of the SWFPL Hockey League in St Jacobs. A devoted and loving husband of almost 21 years to Lori (Hockney). Loving dad to Scott, Kristy, Adam and Daniel. Survived by his parents Carleton and Ann Armstrong of Elora, and his sisters Laura Hodgson ( Nathan) of Elmira, Carla Schott ( Brian) of Glen Allen, Gloria Deskur ( Dave) of Fergus and Cathy Holden ( Mark) of Cambridge. Also survived by in laws John and Margaret Hockney of Kitchener, brother and sister in laws, Lynn McLoughlin (Rob) of Chatham, Bill Hockney ( Sandy) of Guelph, Bev Lee ( Ron) of Alsia Craig and Bob Hockney ( Robin) of Chatham along with many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and a great niece and nephew. Family will receive their friends at the Graham A Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Tuesday, June 10 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9pm. Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 11 at 11:00am at Melville United Church, corner of St. Andrew St. and Tower St. in Fergus, with Rev. Stephen Huntley and Rev. Larry Paul ( Lori’s uncle).
