Obituary for Stephanie Leyla Minarovich

Stephanie Leyla Minarovich
surrounded by friends and family, peacefully passed away on January 15 at age 51, after a two-year battle with cancer. Born February 23rd, 1964 in Istanbul, Turkey, she was the daughter of the late Felix Bernard and Betty Marie (nee Mannerow) Minarovich. She will be missed by her sister, Lisa; her aunt, Marge Halls; cousin Jennifer Ritter; and by many close friends, including her dear friends: Marty Van Vliet and Mark Anderson; and Gwen Swick and Randall Coryell. Stephanie was an alumna of Alma College (formerly of St. Thomas, Ontario) and a graduate of both the University of Guelph and Sheraton College. Those around Stephanie knew her to be passionate about food, reading and travel. Although she traveled the world, she possessed a special passion for Turkey - the place of her birth, and Elora - her home since childhood. Stephanie was a vital member of the village. Over the years, she volunteered with local arts organizations and worked for various local businesses. Her network of friends stretches across the community, and she will be missed greatly by many. A reception to remember her life will be held later in February.
