Obituary for Stacey Lynn Cooper

Suddenly on April 20, 2012 at 2:10 p.m. at Hamilton General Hospital in her 33rd year, Stacey succumbed to complications from epilepsy. She leaves behind her loving family...Devoted dad Ken, who spent every day doing his best to make Stacey’s day better than the one before. Spirited mom Marlene, who instilled in Stacey her feistiness and determination to face life’s challenges head on. Big sister Jodie (Evans), who with her beautiful soul and unconditional heart paved the way for Stacey to be beautiful and loving in her own right. Big sister #2 Lisa (Martin), with her strong sense of fairness, right and wrong, and willingness to stand up for the underdog showed Stacey that if someone is worth your love - you move heaven and earth to give them the shirt off your back. Her two “favourite” nieces, Ceilidh (Evans), who was just about the best “hanging out staying up late listening to music talking about boys” buddy she could have asked for; and Addison (Martin), who shares with her Auntie Stacey an insane love for all creatures big and small.......but mostly cats!! Her in-laws, Ryan Martin - the big brother she always wanted, and what an amazing brother he is; and Teresa Evans (“My TT”), her very own personal paramedic and according to Stacey – “Just plain crazy” – in other words, kindred spirits ? Deeply missed by numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins – you know who you are and you know you were loved. To all her Facebook friends – she loved entertaining you with her random videos, chats and little stories. Replay them often. Your shared memories will sustain you in your grief. And finally – Stacey is once again surrounded by loving family. Her paternal grandparents – Ken and Ethel Cooper; her maternal grandfather – Basil Hayes; and her uncles – Doug and Raymond Hayes. All sadly missed but relatively close to the natural order of things. Too soon, she is now reunited with her beloved nephew Brody Prebble-Cooper (Jodie’s son), who was also unexpectedly taken from us by epilepsy in his 9th year. Heartfelt thanks to the Staff at Caressant Care Fergus; Groves, Henderson and Hamilton General Hospitals – your care was exemplary. Friends and family were received at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9pm, with her Funeral Mass at St. James Anglican Church Thursday April 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Epilepsy Ontario would be lovingly appreciated. www.grahamgiddyfh@on.aibn.com 519 843 3100
