Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital, on January 28, 2020 in her 86th year. Shirley was a devoted mother to her children Steve (Chris), Brian (Janine), Paul (Angela), Laura Holtom and David Holtom. Fondly remembered by her 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by her brother Bill Montgomery, her sister Betty Lou Montgomery and her brother-in-law Tony Blotti. Predeceased by her husband Ken Holtom and her grandson Kristopher Holtom. Our family would like to express our appreciation to the kind and caring staff on 5W at Guelph General Hospital and Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home, where mom has lived for the past 2 years. Private family service to be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to the Wellington Terrace Music & Memory Programme, of which mom enjoyed very much.

I knew Shirley for many many years when she lived in Owen Sound and our paths crossed many times. She was a big supporter of Ken when he played in The Empire Dixie Furnace and Stove Band. I enjoyed playing bridge with her at Baker Street and visiting stores where she worked. She was one of the warmest people I have ever met. So kind. My condolences to the entire family.
