Passed away peacefully at The Elliott in Guelph, on May 19, 2008, in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her husband, James Downey (1981) and her son, Carl Anthony (2001). Lovingly remembered by her children, Marguerite Umbach, Maurice (Rose), Jean Kraemer, Helen Moore (Bert) and Frances Mantler (Joe) and daughter-in-law, Eileen Downey. Fondly remembered by her 38 grandchildren, 100-plus great-grandchildren and her 30-plus great-great-grandchildren. Also predeceased by her grandsons, Philip Downey, Michael Dobben, Tom Moore and Kurtis Kraemer, and her sons-in-law, Ronald Umbach and Kevin Kraemer. Rosella was the last surviving member of her original family. She was the much loved family matriarch. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff at The Elliott Nursing Home for their exceptional care of mom over the years.
