GOODWIN, Ronald - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, November 5th, 2006 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, at the age of 72. Ron lived his life overlooking the Grand River, on the family farm in Inverhaugh, just outside of Elora. He loved farming, music, laughter and family. Ron lived fully with passion and determination.For 52 years he was the beloved husband of Georgina (Jean). During that time he became a loving father to 6 daughters: Grace Ann, Brenda, Sharon, Rhonda, Julie and Donna. They joyfully brought into his life 6 cherished sons-in-law: Don, Roger, Michael, Eamonn, David and Tadeusz (Ted). Ron’s family grew to include 9 grandsons: Matthew, Ronald, Adam, Ryan, Frazer, Aedan, Nathaniel, Graeme, and Jared; and 4 granddaughters: Sarah, Alison, Mariah and Blythe. He was the dearly loved brother of Marion Israel and Donna Mann, and brother-in-law to Mary Martin and Hilda Wright. Friends and family will be received at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home at 37 Church Street East, Elora, on Tuesday, November 7th, from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, November 8th, from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Elora United Church on Thursday, November 9th, at 2 p.m. followed by internment at the Elora Cemetery.
