Life Story for Paul Duchin

Paul Duchin of Fergus passed away suddenly at Groves hospital on Friday April 5th, 2013 at the age of 79. Paul is survived by his wife Mae (Taylor), children Douglas (Denise), Delbert, Denise (Stephen), and Dean (Christine), and nine grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter Deborah.
Born in 1933 and raised on a farm in Wishart Saskatchewan, he joined the air force in 1954, beginning a wide ranging 42 year flying career.
Never one to sit still, as his career took him back and forth across the country, he designed and built three homes and a boat while living in every province except Newfoundland. His career had him instructing in the military, rescuing people as a member of the Coast Guard on both coasts and flying off of icebreakers in the arctic, an airline, corporate and charter pilot. He retired from Transport Canada as an air carrier inspector in 1996.
After retirement his wandering ways continued when he purchased an RV and spent several years travelling throughout North America.
Since finally settling down in Fergus he enjoyed making wine and spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Tiffy.
