Born 1930. Beloved wife of Alan, mother to John, David, Andy, Ralph (Julie), Katherine. Grandmother to Svenja & Jens. Predeceased by parents Edith and Frank, as well as stepmother Ada. Leaves behind brothers Glyn (Doreen), Frank and their families, and daughter-in-law Barbara. Olwen was the strong person in our family. She fell in love with Dad at the age of 10, hiding behind the school hedge until Dad came around the corner, in order to surprise him after school. She married Dad at the age of 20 because he promised a life of adventure to her, and he didn't let her down. Olwen was a very high energy individual, & very strong-willed, not to mention no-nonsense. We could not have had a better mother. She was a very good cook, doing her best to make sure we had healthy meals. She read the stock pages for fun on Saturdays! We're sure, that if she'd had the opportunity she could have had a banking career, she was so intelligent and financially oriented. Losing Olwen will be very sad. We've lost the person that our lives spun around for decades, but she has been in agonizing pain for many years. Finally she is at rest. Bye Olwen. We love you very much.
