Obituary for Nancy Marie Ewen

On Sunday, April 10th, Nancy Marie Ewen (Johnson), was welcomed into the arms of her Lord after her sudden passing at the age of 63.

Nancy will be greatly missed by her loving husband Barry and her boys Christopher Feil and Spencer (Tina) who were the light of her life. Grandmother to her much loved Brooklyn and her precious sweetheart and shopping buddy, Carissa. Affectionately remembered by Susan (Carl) Harris, Brian (Sandy) Johnson, Laurie (Bryce) LeBlanc, Ken (Jennifer) Ewen, Lori (Dean) Brunskill, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Feil; father and mother Fred and Margery Johnson; brother, Larry Johnson.

In her younger years, Nancy was the quintessential farm girl. Freckle faced and barefoot, she grew up to be an accomplished equestrian. At the age of 22, she married Christopher’s father, Joe. Shortly after they were married, Joe became very ill. Nancy remained a devout wife and strong support to Joe until his death, all the while trying to provide a good life for Chris. After many years as a single mom, in 1997, she married Barry, the quintessential farm boy. They were overjoyed to welcome Spencer eighteen months later, a long awaited brother for Chris. Nancy continued to support the family by caring for her precious granddaughters. She loved having the girls to spoil. Nancy and Barry were founding members of Grand River Community Church. She was a devout Christ-follower. Nancy was an encourager, a good listener, a faithful friend, a humble servant and a quiet, generous giver. It is with great sadness we let her go, knowing that our loss is her gain!

The family would like to thank Dr. John Stickney and the team at Little Falls Physicians for the years of care and support given to Nancy and the family.
