Obituary for Michelle Marie Villeneuve

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Michelle Marie Villeneuve. Devoted daughter of Edmond and Irma Villeneuve of Roberval, Quebec, caring mother of Dimitri and Katrina Matheos(Adam Carlo) of Guelph, and loving grandma to Cassandra Nellis and Joslyn Nellis(predeceased). Survived by cherished brothers Paul-Henri(Jaqueline) and Richard(Lucette) Villeneuve of Quebec. Predeceased by sisters, Odette, Therese, Diane, and brothers Bernard and Andre.

Michelle was an elementary school French teacher in and around Guelph, including at Edward Johnson, where she whole heartedly enjoyed her profession. She traveled the world, raised a family and lived life on her own terms guided by her faith and compassion. Michelle marvelled at the beauty of nature, and literally stopped to smell the roses whenever given the opportunity. She was thoughtful, kind, generous and classy to her core. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and colleagues but her inspirational lessons will live on with us. A mass in her name will be held at Church of our Lady (her parish of 30 years) when possible, with an interment at her family plot in Roberval, Quebec to follow. Thank you to Guelph Police Services and the EMT’s who were there to help with such kindness in our time of need. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or sympathy floral arrangements may be done through the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home website. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
