Passed away peacefully on July 11, 2017 at the age of 85 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband and best friend of Dorothy for 60 years. Loving father of Randy of Ottawa, Tim(Sandra) of British Columbia, Terry(Kellie) of Oakville, Martin(Lisa) of New Brunswick, Michelle(Ken) Lund of British Columbia and Mike(Jishu) of Kitchener. Lovingly survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Lois Watkins of St. Jacobs and the Kimpel family. Mel is predeceased by his parents Charles and Gladys Ruller and his brother Clyde Ruller.
Family and friends may visit on Monday July 17, 2017 at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church St., Elora from 2:00-4:00pm & 7:00-9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary the Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, 267 Geddes St., Elora on Tuesday July 18, 2017 at 11:00am.
