Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, on Friday, April 23, 2004, three days before his 78th birthday. Dear father of Sharlene Pfaff of Bracebridge and Mark Flynn of Burnaby, B.C.; grandfather of Kirsten (Steve), Erin and Stephen; great grandfather of Cassandra and Carter. Survived by sister Jean Niezen (Hiddo) of Bowmanville and companion Nayda Schultz. Predeceased by brother Charlton (Marion) of Bellville. Canadian Merchant Navy veteran and 51-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 302 (Gravenhurst). Following a 22-year career in corporate business (Rubberset, Sherwin-Williams, Bristol Myers) in Gravenhurst, spent 23 years on the teaching staff at Centre Wellington District High School, retiring in 1991 with an Award of Merit for Excellence in Public Education (OSSTF).
