Obituary for Marjorie Plant (Runnells)

Marjorie Plant (Runnells)
Peacefully at Riverside Glen Nursing Home in Guelph on February 22, 2017 in her 76th year. Predeceased by her husband Ron Plant (1986) and her parents Francis (“Dud”) and Kathleen (“Kay”) Runnells. Loving mother of daughter Lisa and son Jeffrey (Becky). Marjorie will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law Mary Lou (Len) and Sylvia (Morley, deceased). Fondly remembered by her cousin Pat, her niece and nephews, caregiver Beth, and friends. Marjorie was a life-long resident of Elora who graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Guelph. Her career in nursing saw her working first as an operating room nurse at Groves Hospital in Fergus, and then later as an RN at Wellington Terrace in Elora up until her retirement. Marjorie loved spending her summers in Port Elgin on Georgian Bay. As a child her family would visit relatives “at the beach” each summer, and the tradition of vacationing in Port Elgin continued with her own children after she married. Graveside Service for Marjorie will be held at the Elora Cemetery in Elora, on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at 11:00am. Reception to follow at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Marjorie to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital Foundation or the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Day Out Program would be appreciated.
