Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus. Marion Crawford (Smith) Shantz, 87 years of age, was the beloved wife of Hugh for 63 years. She was the loving mother of John Shantz (Janis), Susan Fife (Tom Stapleton), Kathryn Giffen (Peter) and the late Frederick Shantz (1976). Marion was the dear grandmother of Allison Koebel (Chris), April Martin (Nevin), Jonathan Passy (Jennifer) and Stephen Passy; great grandmother of Justin, Ashley, Shawn, Kara, Dylan, Crawford and Abigail. Marion is predeceased by her siblings; Arthur Smith, Marie Armstrong and Alice Sentes.The family will receive friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains at Memory Gardens, Breslau at a later date.
