Obituary for LORNA HALLS

Died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Groves Hospital in Fergus on August 21, 2004, in her 73rd year. Beloved mother of her three sons Brad and his wife Heather of Cobourg, Norman of London and Allan and his wife Heather of Milton. Devoted grandmother of Laura Harp and her husband Brent and David Halls all of Toronto and Garrett and Peter Halls both Milton. A supportive aunt to 16 nieces and nephews, including Jo McComb (John) of Clifford, Jayne Klug (John) of Kitchener, June Little (Tim) of London and Bonnie Huckstep (Ron) of Pickering. Lorna will also be missed by her sister in law Miem Gordon of Waterloo and her cousin Joan Mariner of Fergus. Predeceased by her parents Lorne and Sarah Gordon of Harriston, her sisters Margaret Elmslie and Jean Cushing, and her brother John Gordon. Lorna was born in 1932 near Harriston and attended school there and took her nursing training at Victoria Hospital in London. She worked as a nurse for many years in the office of Dr. Tom Russell and his successors, most recently with Drs. Stickney, Ewen and Gergovich, where her dedication to their patients was obvious. After her retirement, she was able to dedicate herself to her family her devote circle of friends and former co-workers, and a variety of local agencies, most particular the Rural Women's Shelter. Visitors will be welcomed by the family at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 280 St. David St. S. Fergus. From 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Monday August 23. A complete service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday August 24, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. Followed by Cremation. Final interment will be held at the Harriston Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances in Lorna's name would be appreciated by the family to the Rural Women's Shelter or the Groves Memorial Hospital Building Fund.
