Obituary for Linda Dianne Bratton (Burbidge)
Bratton, Linda Dianne nee Burbidge February 12, 1951-February 12, 2023
It is with sadness in our hearts that we tell family, friends, and the community of the passing of our dear daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Linda passed away at Groves Memorial Hospital surrounded by family on February 12th, 2023 after her short and courageous battle with cancer on her 72nd birthday.
Pre-deceased by her father Robert Burbidge and her father-in-law Raymond Bratton. Beloved, adored, extremely loved, and devoted wife of 51 and a half years to Dave Bratton. Survived by
her mother Catharina Burbidge, brother Robert Burbidge, and mother-in-law Katherine Bratton.
Incredibly missed and forever loved by her two children and their spouses Teriann (Brad) Highfield and Greg (Hollie) Bratton. Devoted Grandmother to Owen (Shawna), Kaylie, and Ethan Bratton and her fur grand babies.
Linda grew up in Newmarket, moving to Markham for her high school years where she met Dave and fell in love. They were married in 1971 and moved to Erin in 1973 where they started their family and raised their kids. She worked at Dominion/A&P/Metro in Orangeville for 37 years where she decorated the most beautiful cakes. Once retired, they moved to Fergus where she continued to dote on her family. She enjoyed going for walks, golfing and curling.
Linda and her family would also like to thank the medical teams at Groves Memorial Hospital and Guelph General Hospital.
To honour Linda’s life a visitation will be held at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus, ON on February 28th, 2023 from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations are made to Groves Memorial Hospital.
