Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Nursing Home in Kitchener on December 18, 2008 at the age of 96 years. Laura, the youngest of ten siblings, was born in Maryborough Township on July 16, 1912, daughter of Robert and Anne McNeil. Married Wilbert Shafer (Wib) on July 21, 1934. Survived by her grandchildren Lloyd, Danny, Brad and Rebekah and her great grandchildren. Will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews, and other family and dear friends. Predeceased by her husband Wilbert (Wib) First World War veteran (1996) and son Dan (1998). Remembered always for her deep love for her Saviour, Jesus Christ, her kindness, cheerful spirit and gentle wit. Family will receive friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church Street, Elora. on Monday, December 22 from 11:30am-1:30pm. Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 1:30pm.
