Your Bright Light

Kristie was always a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Whether it was any regular school day at JD, a horribly busy weekend at Tim Hortons or long tiring day at CW, she always knew how to brighten my mood. Making me laugh, checking in, whatever I needed to smile a little. I will never forget the way she used to tickle my arm at work, making sure I was alright or drawing pictures on the windows with me. She made working there a little more bearable. She was so much fun to be around, never a dull moment with her. Whether it was the time we went bowling with the Tim Crew where her and I were the worst bowlers there or just relaxing in her backyard having long conversations with Tanya, I always left her presence with a smile on my face. I'll never forget the nicknames we had for eachother, hers Jellybean, mine Skittle, and how even if we had lost touch a couple times, she would still refer to me as Skittle no matter what. She was the kind of person that you never had to worry about losing touch with, because if you did and you met up with her again, you could pick up right where you left off. Graduation day was the last time I saw her and she relieved a lot of my anxiety that day just knowing I had a friend with me to walk out of that classroom and down the aisle full of people. I remember taking photos of her dressed in her gown, telling her to take a nice picture for her mom. She smiled her best smile and radiated confidence as she always did. She was such a beautiful person and a great friend. She positively impacted everyone she met and I was definitely one of those people. I will miss you and love you forever my Jellybean, and everytime I see a sunflower I will think of you. Rest in peace beautiful, you will forever be a shining ray of light in those dark days. xoxo.
