A few little memories

Kristie-Lee was a very fun, kind, real and insightful person. I have many memories of her, from sitting with and talking to her in various classes, to seeing the impact she had on our school community, to our senior arts trip, where we roomed together. Consistently, she impressed me with her commitment, courtesy, humour, and honesty. She is someone who I have a great deal of respect and admiration for. Some of my favourite memories of Kristie include: -On our last night in New York, our group went shopping in SoHo. All the night before she had talked about going to the DASH store, of course owned by the kardashians. I hadn't seen her since we left the hotel that morning, but as soon as she sees me, she walks up to me and says, "I just used my emergency-only credit card to buy a $60 tshirt." -Our first night in New York, what I'm assuming was an overtired Kristie was the most hyped up I've ever seen her, laughing and dancing around the lobby. It was such funny side to her I had never seen before -Listening to her powerful writing in our writers craft class, or looking forward to seeing a new perspective from her in a debate in philosophy class, or the many times i have seen her step out of her comfort zone to basically excel at whatever we were doing But there is one memory that has stuck out to me since I've been thinking about her family. I read that Kristie would check up on her mom "even more than she could check on Kristie-Lee." When I read this, I thought back to a time in our 11th grade philosophy class when she invited me and our friend, Emily, who also sat with us over to her house. This unfortunately (and for reasons I really can't remember) didn't happen, but I recall part of that discussion was that half-jokingly she said she thought her mom was worried about her, and that she didn't invite friends over enough. Clearly, Kristie never wanted to give you, any of her family, a reason to be worried about her. And I think now would be the same. She is safe wherever she is in the universe, forever the unforgettable Kristie Kardashian. I hope I haven't said anything inconsistent with the Kristie you know! She was an amazing girl, and the world has lost someone great. Rest Easy KL
