Obituary for Kenneth Rexford Burns

Ken was born July 17, 1916 in Brantford, Ontario to the late George and Mary Burns. Ken passed away peacefully into the hands of his Lord on January 8th, 2006 after a life lived serving Him and loving others. His hugs were always there for anyone who needed them. He leaves the Love of his life - Betty and their two children, Pat (Clare) Newson and Ken (Jean) Burns. His prayers for his three grandchildren and spouses were an inheritance that can never be equalled. Michelle (Newson) John Mann, Sonya (Newson) Craig Young, Ashleigh Burns, as well as seven great grandchildren: Kevin, Kristin, Michael Mann, Jessica, Tyler, Stephanie, Lindsay Young. Ken also leaves two sisters, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Pauline and John McIntosh, Marion Pearson and his sister-in-law Marion Burns (California). He is predeceased by his brother EdwardBurns and brother-in-law Bill Pearson. During his lifetime he faithfully served as a member of the Gideons for 56 years; planned and ran the most exciting vacation Bible Schools in the summer for St. Andrew’s Presbyterian and Melville United Churches; served as elder and Sunday School Superintendent for St. Andrew’s and Bethel Baptist Churches; diligently worked for Beatty Bros and Welcon Limited, retiring in his 70’s. He was a man who cared for you whether you were a friend of many years or someone he just met. Ken would like you to remember him because of his love and faithfulness and his Lord. Ken and Dad we will miss you but know we will see you again. A private service of remembrance of Ken’s life will take place with his family and close friends.
