Obituary for Kenneth Armstrong

Kenneth Armstrong (1913 – 2006): Visitation was held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 37 Church St. E., Elora on Friday July 7th, 2006 from 7 –9 PM. Funeral Service was held at the Funeral Home Chapel in Elora on Saturday July 8th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Greg Smith –Young officiating. During the service the hymns “ Love Divine All Loves Excelling” and “The Old Rugged Cross” were sung. The poems “ I Remember”, “Oft in the Stilly Night” and “Not In Vain” were read during the service. Betty Honsinger sang a lovely solo and Bill French played a solo on the trumpet. Pallbearers for Kenneth were; Jim Armstrong, Randy Mercer, Bill French, John Mortimer, David Wenn and Clelland Honsinger. Flower bearers were Margaret Mortimer, Tess Armstrong, Betty Mercer and Lima Mortimer. Interment followed at the Elora Cemetery. A time of refreshment followed at Knox Presbyterian Church in Elora.Kenneth Armstrong died at Groves Hospital in Fergus on July 5th, 2006 in his 93rd year. He was born in Maryborough Township, Wellington County on November 18th, 1913. Son of Richard Armstrong and Annie (Mannell) Armstrong. Predeceased by his wife Mabel M. Mortimen (1984). Retired Superintendent of Education (Oakville, and subsequently Halton County).. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Groves Memorial Hospital Building Fund.
