Obituary for Joyce Eileen Hill (Danby)
Born on May 21, 1936, Joyce passed away at her farm on January 28, 2023, surrounded by family, at the age of 86.
In 1957, Joyce graduated from the Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing and remained life-long friends with a number of her classmates. In 1958, she married John David Currie (pre-deceased 1969) and had three children (Brian, Mary, and David). Joyce then married William (Bill) Hill (pre-deceased August 2022) in late 1969, had a fourth child (William), and spent the next 53 years restoring and living on a farm just outside of Rockwood, Ontario. Joyce surrounded the farm house with garden beds that she lovingly cared for, brimming with flowers and vegetables. She also worked tirelessly to foster and to support various causes and initiatives in her community. Nothing mattered more to Joyce and Bill than their family of four children and their spouses, ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A private service will be held for Joyce in the spring.
