Obituary for Joyce Elizabeth Fennell

Joyce Elizabeth Fennell (nee Long) passed away peacefully in her sleep at Wellington Terrace on November 12, 2021, at the age of 81. Predeceased by her husband Robert ("Bob") Fennell, brother Robert ("Bob") Long and sister Berniece Long, and lovingly remembered by son Shawn (Wendy), and grandchildren Calvin, Kendra, Zach, Vanessa and MacKenzie.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother and devoted Grandma. She was skilled with her sewing and known for her adeptness with crafts of all sorts, especially ceramics, stained glass and Christmas decorations. For many years she provided Avon products to friends, family and her co-workers at Mohawk College. Joyce was frugal with her finances and was able to creatively see the family through many hard years when work was hard to find for Carpenters. Joyce and Bob enjoyed travelling together, taking several road trips in Canada and the United States.

Family was very important to Joyce and treasured time spent with her Grandchildren, especially in their infant years. Joyce's hard work, determination and dedication has been an inspiration to us all.

A celebration of Joyce's life will take place on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021, visitation from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm with a service beginning at 2:00 pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus (280 St. David Street South). The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Juravinski Hospital and Wellington Terrace for all their care and support in her final days. Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Society. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
