It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Josef ( Joe ) Egger. His devastating illness and his fast passing have been a real shock to us. We are thankful for all the caring and love Joe and our whole family has received, not just during his illness but also during his lifetime. Joe leaves behind his wife Katharina ( Kathy ), his son Peter with wife Mindy, his granchildren Taylor, Andreas, Loire, his brother Walter with wife Trudy and their two children Roland with wife Jeanine and Sandra with husband Steven. Sandra was his beloved godchild and he loved her dearly to the end. Joe was a special uncle to Ryan and Madison. He will also be missed by his three sisters in Switzerland; Ernalies, Annemarie and Margrit as well as their families. Joe will be missed by his extended family and friends in Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein and Singapore, as well as many friends in Canada and Cuba. We will always remember his cheerfulness, zest for life and the love for his family. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 3 PM on Sunday November 29, 2009 at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus. A reception will follow at the Breadalbane Inn, Fergus.
